What do you get when you mix four powerhouse actresses, an impromptu road trip, and a dash of hillarious physical comedy? A classic cocktail of cinematic antics we’re all dying to see! Debuting this Friday, Girls Trip follows best friends Ryan (Regina Hall), Sasha (Queen Latifah), Lisa (Jada Pinkett Smith) and Dina (Tiffany Haddish) on the adventure of a lifetime as they travel to the New Orleans Essence Festival to rekindle old bonds.

Billed by Entertainment Tonight as “one of the wildest, raunchiest comedies of the summer, the Malcolm D. Lee produced movie has received favorable reviews  from top critics across the board. “Girls Trip succeeds where the others have failed. It’s hard to say whether that’s thanks to Lee’s characteristically breezy, no-sweat direction (he’s the writer-director behind the Best Man comedies as well as the director of the jubilant blaxploitation parody Undercover Brother) or to the movie’s buoyant and superbly matched cast,” said Time Magazine movie critic, Stephanie Zacharek.

“Girls Trip is just fun, a movie that—even within the context of its broad, exaggerated humor—never seems to be trying too hard.”

We support the forthcoming Gen X antics and shenanigans! And, what better time to set it off than happy hour?  If you’re in the Austin area, join us this Thursday, July 20, from 5-7 at Alamo Lakeline Bar as we partner with Tenth Year in the Sun, soulciti, and Capital City Black Film Festival to bring you a and your girlfriends, a Girls Trip happy hour followed by a private movie screening.
